Roy Christianson

Roy A. Christianson, 59, of Metamora, IL, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at 2:13 PM with the love of his life, his wife Kandy, holding his hand. He was born June 5, 1961, in Peoria, IL.  He was preceded in death by his loving parents Lloyd David Christianson Sr. and Judith Anne Christianson, and one brother Lloyd D. Christianson Jr.

Roy leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 41 wonderful years, Kandy L. (Baker) Christianson.  His pride and joy's, his son Roy L. Christianson and his daughter Kandis R. Wall (Christianson), his granddaughters Madison Trueblood (Christopher Kindig) and Samantha McCoy, his grandsons Clayton Wall and Dakota Christianson (Madilynne Slater-Webster), and his great-granddaughter Layla McCoy. Roy's siblings Deborah Christianson, Robert Christianson Luther (Rhonda) Christianson, and Paul Christianson, all of Missouri along with many nieces and nephews.

Roy was the owner and operator of Roy Christianson Construction of Metamora.  Roy was an avid deer hunter; his favorite place was in his tree stand in the middle of the woods, where he could spend hours upon hours just watching deer.  Roy loved to hunt, and it was one of his many passions that he also shared with his wife and passed along to his daughter and youngest granddaughter.  He was a lifetime member of "The North American Hunting Club" and a member of "Ducks Unlimited."  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding the side by side with his grandchildren, making many memories.

Roy spent his childhood years in Washington, Il. and graduated from Washington Community High School.  Then he married his wife and started a wonderful life with her. Roy was the kind of man that many people admired, including his children and grandchildren.  He was a hard-working, honest and caring man, who would do anything for anyone who asked. Roy was a good friend, a loving and devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He sure loved his babies no matter how old or young they were. Roy was a kind and giving person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.  He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Cremation rites will be accorded, so that he and his wife will be forever together.  A memorial visitation will be held Friday, May 21, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. A memorial service will follow the visitation beginning at 6:30 pm all at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills.
