Roy Call

Roy L. "Rick" Call, 64, of Bay View Gardens passed away at 8:25am on Sunday Sept 30, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on January 25, 1948 in Washington, IL the son of Clarence and Eleanor Haley Call Sr. Surviving is Cam McMurtrey whom he made his home with for 28 years. Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Hope) Call of Germany, Paul (Jenera) Call of Germantown Hills, and one daughter Christina DeLap of East Peoria, two stepsons Dennis McMurtrey of Low Point and Dan McMurtrey of Peoria. Further surviving Roy are 12 grandchildren, three brothers Dale (Phyllis) Call of Edelstein, Harry (Virginia) Call and Randy (Deanna) Call both of East Peoria; one sister Betty (Jim) Shuda of Washington. Three brothers, and one sister preceded Rick in death. He was a heavy equipment operator with operating engineers Local 649 in Peoria working for Wiegand and Storrer for 44 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially liking to gardening and fishing. Visitation will be Wednesday evening Oct 3rd from 5pm until 7pm at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills. Services will then be held at 11am on Thursday Oct 4th, 2012 also at the funeral home with burial following in Spring Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to the American Cancer Society.
