Rosemary E. Wyzlic

Rosemary E. Wyzlic, 93, of Metamora, formerly of Spring Bay, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016. She was born on July 9, 1922, in Peoria, the daughter of William and Mary Dell. She married Donald F. Wyzlic, Sr. on May 24, 1974, in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons Donald F. Wyzlic, Jr. of Peoria, Dennis (Pat) Wyzlic of Deer Creek and David (Kim Schmeilski) Wyzlic of Germantown Hills; and one daughter Debra Gilliatt of East Peoria. Further surviving are five grandchildren Abigail (Louis) Getz of West Peoria, Joe Wyzlic of Germantown Hills, Rick Gilliatt of East Peoria, Chandler Gilliatt of East Peoria and Erin Gilliatt of Peoria; and one sister-in-law Delores Cassidy of Peoria. She is further survived by her extended family, Holly and Josie Pullen and Justin and Preston Koontz of Spring Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Dell; her sister Mildred A. Arbuckle; her granddaughter Tracy Gilliatt; and her great-grandson Leo Wyzlic. Rosemary retired from Hiram Walker & Sons with 33 years of service. She was a gentle spirit with a tender heart. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She never forgot a birthday, what year you were born or how old you were. She was thrifty and spent hours balancing her checkbook each month. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She and Donald spent many enjoyable winters in St. Petersburg, Florida. Rosemary will be missed by all who loved her. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills where visitation will be held one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Brimfield Township Cemetery in rural Brimfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS), a no-kill animal shelter, located in Tazewell County.
