Rosemary "Rose" Frances (Hayn) Baker

Rosemary Frances "Rose" Baker, 79, of Washburn, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Born on June 30, 1946, in Kampsville, IL, Rose was the daughter of Anita Daniels and Edward Hayn.  She married Bruce W. Baker on January 12, 1974 in East Peoria, IL.  He survives.

Rose was a mother to her five children, Delbert Atterberry of Pekin, IL, Cheryl (Dan) Jewell of Spring City, TN, David (Ailene) Atterberry of Pekin, IL, Steven (Mandi) Baker of LowPoint, IL, and Heather Baker of Washburn, IL.  Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

She is also remembered by her siblings, Gene (Lydia) Hayn of Idaho, Joe Hayn of Green Valley, IL, Barb (Tutti) Flynn of Toluca, IL, Mary Snyder of Pekin, IL, Patty Haynes of Pekin, IL, Renee Gregory of Spring Lake, Diana Hayn of Pekin, IL, and Cathy Null of Pekin, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet Hayn, and brother John Hayn.

Rose had a love for nature and creativity.  She found peace in gardening – whether tending to vegetables or planting vibrant flower beds – and took pride in the beauty she nurtured around her home.  An artist at heart, she expressed herself through painting and drawing, often capturing the world as she saw it with color and grace.  Her kitchen was another canvas where she shared her talents as a great cook, preparing meals that brought people together.  She loved watching birds in her yard and listening to good music.

Those who knew Rose will remember her for the beauty she created – in gardens, on canvas, and at the table.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
