Rosemarie Reilly, 86, of Washington, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Apostolic Christian Home-Eureka.
She was born on January 4, 1938, in Roanoke, the daughter of Robert and Ida Monge. She married James A. Reilly on June 30, 1957. He passed away on March 23, 2019. One son, Jimmy, and one grandson, Adam Reilly, and one son-in-law Bob Witkowski preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Witkowski of Elizabeth, CO, and Teresa (Rob) Tilton of Washington, IL, and one son, Scott Reilly of Alba, TX. Further surviving are three brothers, Leroy Monge of Eureka, IL, John (Vickie) Monge of Kaneohe, HI, and Harry (Marty) Herambourg of Newman Lake, WA, and two sisters, Mary (Pat) Shelly of Coeur D'Alene, ID, and Josephine (Larry) Brubaker of Spokane, WA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Dawn Davis, Billy Davis, Missy Ester, Chad Witkowski, Jennifer Kuehn, Jessica Tilton, Ashley Tilton, and Olivia Tilton. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-granddaughters.
Rosemarie spent 13 years as the welcoming face of Yeomans Distributing in Peoria. Her role as a receptionist extended beyond her professional duties, touching the lives of colleagues and clients alike with her warmth and grace.
A member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington, Rosemarie's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her commitment to her church community was evident in the countless hours she devoted to helping with luncheons and meticulously preparing the monthly bulletin. Her melodious voice was a staple in the church choir, where she sang with passion and devotion, inspiring all who heard her.
Rosemarie's interests were a reflection of her love for life and the beauty it holds. An avid crafter, she found joy in crocheting and creating exquisite wreaths that were a testament to her artistic talent. Her garden was a haven of tranquility, brimming with vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables, a true showcase of her green thumb and appreciation for nature's splendor.
RV traveling was another pleasure for Rosemarie and Jim, allowing them to explore and create lasting memories with their family. The time spent with her family was precious, filled with laughter, love, and the creation of cherished moments that will be held close to their hearts forever.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Dick Hanson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association-Peoria Office, 614 W Glen Ave, Peoria, IL 61614.
