Ronald Lee Poehlman Sr., 78, of Washington, Illinois, passed away early Sunday morning, October 4, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 13, 1947, in Washington, to Nathan and Anna Schmitt Poehlman. He married Linda L. Medlin on June 25, 1970, in Sunnyland, Illinois.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, his daughter Angela Poehlman of Morton, Illinois, and his two sons, R. Lee Poehlman, Jr., from Dallas, Texas, and Nicholas Poehlman from Washington. He's also cherished by his two grandsons, Gavin and Logan, and his brother Randal (Reva) Poehlman of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.

Ron served proudly in the U.S. Army Reserves before being honorably discharged. Following his military service, he dedicated 42 years to the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier until his well-deserved retirement. Ron was also a cherished member of Calvary Community Church in Washington.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Clayton Tinervin from Calvary Community Church will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
