Ronald Riley Mchenry

Ronald Riley McHenry, 57, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 5:46 pm on Friday, June 30, 2023, at his residence after a courageous 7-year battle with ALS/Lou Gehrigs disease.

He was born on February 11, 1966, in Peoria, IL, to Robert C. "Bob" and Ruth A. (Rassi) McHenry. He married Jennifer J. Adami on May 5, 2000 in Germantown Hills, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Jennifer of Germantown Hills; mother, Ruth McHenry of Germantown Hills; five children, Alexis Riley McHenry of Germantown Hills, Kaitlyn Reason of Lincoln, IL, Kelsey Thompson and Nicole Reason both of Peoria Heights, IL, and Nathan (Carol Anne) Adami of Longmont, CO; four grandchildren, Ryot Beam, Remy Beam, Kenny Vaughn, and Vibrant Adami; sister, Roxann (Mark) Korte of Defiance, MO; niece, Amanda Korte, and nephew, Tim Adami. He was preceded in death by his father and one niece.

Ronald was a 1984 Metamora Township High School graduate. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, entering in June 1984 and serving for four years. He enjoyed his time working for Germantown Hills Middle School for 20 years doing maintenance work.

Ron was a smart and loving husband, father, son, grandpa, and friend. He loved swimming and weightlifting. He was a big fan of Star Wars and the Simpsons. Ron was an avid chess and card player. He was a great historian and admired Ronald Reagan. Ron had a great sense of humor and always left people with a smile on their faces.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Black Partridge Park on Coal Bank Road in Metamora..
