Roma M. (Hartter) Belsly

April 9, 1929 — June 16, 2015

Roma M. (Hartter) Belsly, 86, of Metamora, formerly of Eureka, IL passed away at 8:42 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Snyder Village, Metamora. She was born on April 9, 1929 on the farm in El Paso, IL to Harvey and Dena (Ranken) Knoll. She married Mike W. Hartter on May 10, 1947 in Eureka. He died on July 1, 1997. She then married Joseph L. Belsly on December 10, 1998 in Eureka. He died on December 5, 2008. Surviving are her children Michael (Jenny) Hartter of Chillicothe and Shirley (John) Dust of Washington; two grandsons Bradley Dust of Omaha, NE and Mike (Becky) Aldredge of Peoria; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mother enjoyed her early childhood on the family farm. She often spoke of her pony rides and how she quite regularly was bucked off. In her later years Mother knew how to have a good time. She especially enjoyed stopping by the gambling boat for a bit of slot fun. Roma was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church and also attended RiversEdge United Methodist Church, Spring Bay. At long last Mother can be reunited with her Mother whom she lost at such an early age. We can only imagine all of the catching up they must be doing. Rest well, Mother, and know that we love you and you will forever be in our hearts! Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Robert DeBolt officiating with visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Olio Cemetery, Eureka. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to EP!C, 1913 West Townline Road, Peoria, IL 61614. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
