Roland E. "Rollie" Kerker, 78, of Metamora, IL passed away at 1:50 am on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Snyder Village, Metamora. He was born on November 28, 1936 in Washington, IL to Ralph S. and Kathryn (Heininger) Kerker, Sr. He married Nancy Kitlan on June 4, 1962 in Peoria, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his children Margie (Dan) Greuter, Denise "Dee Dee" (John) Tjaden, Steve Kerker all of Metamora and Angie (Wade) Alig of East Peoria; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters Betty Nauman of Metamora and Shirley Williams of Huntsville, AL; and sister-in-law Edith Kerker of Glendale, AZ. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law. Rollie was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a material handler at Metamora Woodworking for 34 years. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Metamora and a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Sorrows #3060. He had a love for gardening and feeding the birds and squirrels. He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved his family and grandchildren very much as well as his dog, Oscar. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Metamora with Father Gregory Jozefiak officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 3:30 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with visitation following from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Burial will be held in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Metamora with military rites accorded. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or Northwestern Memorial Hospital Transplant Unit, 1704 Maple Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201.
