Roger Lee Ruder

Roger Lee Ruder, 77, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Lacon, IL passed away at 7:30 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist, Peoria. He was born on June 1, 1937 in Low Point, IL to Reynold and Frances (Elbert) Ruder. He married Janet Mae Staab on January 28, 1956 in Metamora, IL. She survives. Also surviving are children, Mark (Cindy) Ruder of Germantown Hills, IL, Scott (Tracy) Ruder of St. Jacob, IL, Tony (Roxanne) Ruder of Spring Bay, IL and Samuel (Angel) Ruder of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill (Lynnette) Ruder of Eureka, IL, Ellen (Jay) Mitchell of Springfield, MO, and Barbara Summer of Warner Robins, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Roger was a life long farmer and a member of the Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau. He was part owner of S & R Feed Service in Lacon. After retiring from the feed service, he worked for the Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau. He was a sports fan and an avid bowler, playing in many leagues and a member of the American Bowling Congress. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Sorrows #3060, Metamora. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Metamora with Father Ron Dodd officiating with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
