Roger L. Fahlberg

Roger L. Fahlberg, age 83, of Metamora, Ill., passed away at 3:00pm Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Snyder Village with his loving wife and three daughters by his side. He was born August 19, 1929, in Princeton, IL., to Clarence and Kathleen (Maycox) Fahlberg. He married Dorothy Dalton on June 15, 1953, in Princeton, IL. Surviving are his wife of Metamora; three daughters, Kathy (Tim) Ayers of Cumming, Ga., Kris (Glenn Jr.) Stieglitz of Morton, IL, and Karla (Joe Jr.) Budde of Cary, NC; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death He served in the Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was stationed as a Blue Nose in Thule, Greenland. Roger was a retired, self-employed, lighting contractor. Among his greatest joys were his family, and serving as a church elder. He enjoyed fishing, painting, and fellowshipping with friends. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle and giving nature. His family will miss him greatly but will be forever grateful to the Lord for the many years we were blessed to have him as a husband, father and grandfather. Pallbearers will be Jason and Orion Schuon, Nicholas and Nathaniel Budde, Troy Stieglitz, and Jordan Magana. Funeral services will be at 1pm Friday, December 14, 2012, at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora, Ill. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Steve Drennan Chaplain with OSF St. Francis Hospice will officiate. Burial service will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, Illinois. Memorial may be made to South Side Mission in Peoria, Ill., and Snyder Village in Metamora, IL.
