Roberta M. "Bert" Grebner age 89 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 8:48am Thursday Nov. 17, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born July 5, 1922 in Peoria to Fredrick and Rosa (Schwenk) Michael. She married Florentius P. "Hots" Grebner on Sept. 28, 1946 in Metamora, IL he passed away Nov. 17, 2009. Surviving are her children Lon (Rita) Grebner of Chillicothe, Lance (Sophie Alweis) Grebner of West Linn, Oregon, Debra Grebner of Washington, Tamas (Susie) Grebner of Metamora, Tim (Cindy) Grebner of Low Point, and Marcy (Wes) Nohl of Deer Creek . 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Roberta is also survived by 2 sisters Leota McCarrick of California, Ruth Heib of Rockford, IL, and one brother Donald (Susie) Michael of Pekin. She was preceded in death 1 brother and 4 sisters. Member of St. Mary Lourdes Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She helped co-found the Youth Club at Lourdes Church. She volunteered for many events and made Easter baskets for needy children. She was a amazing cook working along side her husband at Wernsman?s Restaurant for many years and was known for the Rotary Luncheons.Roberta was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed canning, flower arranging, and her perennial flower beds. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Monday Nov. 21, 2011 at St. Mary Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Neri Greskoviak officiating. Visitation will be from 2pm until 6pm Sunday at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with recitation of the rosary at 6pm. Burial will be in St. Mary Lourdes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Snyder Village.
