Roberta R. "Bert" Kennell

Roberta R. "Bert" Kennell, 82, of Eureka, IL passed away at 7:44 pm on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Roanoke Apostolic Home in Roanoke, IL. She was born on May 24, 1934 in Eureka, IL to Ray and Ada (Keller) Reber. She married Lyle A. Kennell on May 8, 1953 at the farm in LowPoint, IL. He passed away on February 13, 2017. Surviving are her children Arthur L. (Shirley) Kennell of Roanoke, Andrew L. Kennell of Wenona, IL, Arnold L. Kennell of Benson, Amy L. (Shane) Barnett of Hanna City, and Thomas A. Kennell of Eureka; grandchildren Rachel (Rich) Dickinson, Anna (Kevin) Peters, Joshua Kennell, Jason (Kaci) Kennell, Katelyn Barnett, and Maccrae Barnett; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Marge Schrader of Germantown Hills, IL. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Roberta attended the Living Faith Fellowship Church in Eureka. She was a hard worker while raising the kids. Roberta volunteered for the Eureka Et Cetera Thrift Shop for over 20 years. She enjoyed quilting and visiting with friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Roanoke Mennonite Church with Pastors Bryan Miller, Brett Woerner, and Dennis Kennell officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel in Metamora and also one hour prior to her service at the church. Burial will be in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery in Roanoke. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Living Faith Fellowship Church Building Fund or Roanoke Mennonite Church.
