Robert G. Pearson, 73, of Peoria passed away at 4:43pm, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on March 11, 1945 in Des Moines, IA the son of Eric and Evelyn Bainter Pearson.  He married Nancy Ruppert on November 4, 1967.  He later married Bonnie D. Crawford on November 19, 1988 in Trinidad, CO.

Surviving are his wife, his children Laurie Pearson of Denver, CO; Sarah (Ed) Cavanaugh of Canon City, CO David (Jessica) Pearson of Hartsburg, IL, Diana (Anuraj) Pearson of Peoria, two step-sons Todd Wadle of Dallas, TX and Aaron (Jennifer) Wadle of Shawnee, KS.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren Zake Pearson, Jade McLaughlin, Dylan Carignan, Gavin Wadle, Colin Wadle, Denver Ivy and Violet Merz.  His parents, one son Robert E. Pearson and one brother Daniel Pearson preceded him in death.

He started his railroad career with Chicago and North Western Railroad in Des Moines, IA.  Most of his railroad career was with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  He retired from his railroading with TP&W in Peoria in 2006.  After his retirement, he helped his wife Bonnie, with her home childcare center. He enjoyed photography, traveling in their motorhome across the country, collecting railroad memorabilia, among many other hobbies, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate his life will be Friday, December 21, 2018 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to the American Cancer Society, 4234 N Knoxville Ave Suite B, Peoria, IL 61614.  To share a memory or send a condolence for his family visit www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
