Robert K. McClaskey, 85, of Germantown Hills, IL went to be with the Lord at 4:00 am on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Heartland of Riverview in East Peoria, IL.  He was born on March 11, 1933 in Gillespie, IL to Robert J. and Velma (Doss) McClaskey.  He married Barbara J. Shaklee on September 2, 1956 in Peoria, IL.  She passed away on February 6, 2009.

Surviving are his daughter Kim (Dwayne) Phelps of Germantown Hills; granddaughter Beth Phelps of Germantown Hills; and sister Velma Maxine Howard of Hanna City, IL.  He was preceded in death by sister Dorothy Roger.

Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a private in the Korean War.  He was a switchman for the Peoria & Pekin Union Railroad, retiring in 1991.  Bob was a Cubs fan and he and his wife loved to travel.  On June 6, 2018 Robert accepted Jesus into his heart as his Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with his son-in-law Dwayne Phelps officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria with military rites accorded.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
