Robert R. Callis

Robert R Callis, age 80, of Metamora, IL, formerly of Clarksville, TN died on Thursday morning, February 1, 2018 at his residence after battling Alzheimers/dementia. He was born on October 6, 1937 in Goodlettsville, TN to Robert O. and Mary Belle Callis.

Surviving are his children Carolyn (Alfred) Jackson of Metamora, Rose Mary (Terry) Callis-Bean of Nashville, TN, Robert (Marie) Callis of Clarksville, TN, and Melinda Hill of Grants Pass, OR; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sisters Betty Birdwell and Carrie Bell Woodall, and brother William Callis.

Although he was battling Alzheimers/dementia for past 10 years, he had a roaring sense of humor that was sure to make people laugh. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Robert is now rejoicing as he entered the gates of heaven and their waiting to welcome him was the love of his life, Anna Jo and his grandson, Kyle.

Cremation rights have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations can be given through the GoFundMe.com/RobertRCallisMemorial. A memorial, place to be determined, and graveside service will be held on April 14, 2018 at Crestview Cemetery in Gallatin, TN.
