Rita J. Shew

Rita J. Shew age 90 of Farmington, Illinois passed away at 8:27pm Sunday Dec. 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born April 14, 1924 in Hamlet, Indiana to William and Veronica (Alig) Meister. She married Raymond C. Shew on July 29, 1950 in Peoria. He died Sept. 19, 2007. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Shew of Farmington, Linda (Emery) Tabor of Low Point, IL., Grandchildren, Denise (Kirk) Taylor of Low Point, and Scott (Kami) Tabor of Okinawa, Japan. Step grandchildren, Kim (Darrin) Notzke of Chillicothe and Karlene Tabor of Washington, 5 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandsons. Rita worked as an inspector at Caterpillar for over 30 years retiring in 1974. Member of UAW Local 974 Peoria and St. Matthews Catholic Church in Farmington. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and was always there for her family and will greatly missed. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday Dec. 27, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Visitation will from 10:00am till service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery in rural Metamora. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com
