Richard "Rich" Seth, born March 27, 1940, in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India, passed away on November 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. The son of Walter and Eileen (Gasper) Seth, Rich's life journey carried him across continents and into the hearts of all who knew him.

Rich immigrated to the United States on April 13, 1954, a milestone that shaped the rest of his life. He loved this country deeply-especially what he fondly called "middle America." In a newspaper interview years ago, he shared words that captured his gratitude and conviction: "I don't think anyone should forget his heritage, but once you are here in America, this is your country. Being an American, being free, really free, that is something to be proud of."

A devoted follower of Christ, Rich lived his faith quietly but steadfastly. His love for the Lord and his family were the guiding priorities of his life. He often carried with him the truth of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." These words reflected the spirit with which he approached both life's blessings and its challenges.

Rich was a gifted artist, known especially for his landscapes, through which he captured the beauty he saw in the world around him. Creative, thoughtful, and humble, he shared his talent generously with those he loved.

For 20 years, Rich worked as the Display and Advertising Director for Carson Pirie Scott in Ottawa, where his artistic eye and dedication left a lasting impression. He later pursued his art full time before spending 15 meaningful years working in the Environmental Services Department at Pleasant View Lutheran Home. In each role, Rich brought integrity, kindness, and an unwavering work ethic.

Rich is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dora Lee (Anthony) Seth; his son and daughter of his heart, Andrew and Aimee Seth; and his cherished grandchildren, Annemarie Labatore (Seth) and her husband, Jacob Labatore, and Ashlyn Seth. He is also survived by his twin brother, Robert Seth (Ruth); his sister-in-law, Judith Baker; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara Storey (Seth); and his brother, Brian Seth.

Rich's legacy is one of faith, family, creativity, and quiet strength. He will be forever loved, remembered, and deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

At the request of Rich, cremation has been accorded. A memorial visitation is scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington from 2pm until 4pm. A memorial service will follow at 4pm with his twin brother Robert officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial in his name may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
