Richard A. Knutson

Richard Allen Knutson, 73, of East Peoria, IL, passed away at 9:10 pm, Thursday, February 17, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

On August 26, 1948, he was born in Oak Park, IL, the son of the late Erling and Myrtle (Ingeldsen) Knutson. He married Nancy (Whitaker) Johnson on February 16, 1990, in Pekin. She passed away on April 26, 2014, in Peoria.

Surviving are his daughter Kimberly (Britt) Barnard of Bloomington, IL, stepchildren Joshua (Trisha) Johnson of Washington, Michelle (Brad) Campbell of Marinette, WI, Amanda (Milos) Babic of Elgin, IL, Rachel (Adam) Dew of Bloomington, IL. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving as a medic before his honorable discharge. Rich worked for Mitsubishi Motors and later was a caretaker for family members.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Bethany Community Church in Washington. Pastor Blake Gerber will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 10:45 am Wednesday also at the church. Burial will follow his service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.
