Rene Cletus Rockett

Rene Cletus Rockett age 61 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 3:07am Thursday Sept. 5, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born Jan. 13, 1952 in Peoria to Cletus and Anna Opal (Hosick) Rockett. He married Debra E. Bohannan on July 22, 1972 in Peoria and she survives. Surviving are his children, Melissa (Christopher) Reising, Dawn Downs, Paula Renken all of Metamora, Anthony (Veronica Utley) Rockett of Morton, Tony Seckler of Colorado, Hailey, Anna, Jesse, and Matthew Rockett all of Metamora and 7 grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Lonnie Rocket of Peoria, Barbara (Jerry) Wright of Morton, Iris Piscel and Dennis Rockett both of Peoria. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jeffrey Rockett. Rene was a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from Caterpillar as a machinist. He enjoyed Nascar racing and spending time with his children and his friends. Funeral services will at 11:00am Thursday Sept. 12, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Rev. Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a Educational Fund established for Rene?s younger children, Hailey, Anna, Jesse and Matthew Rockett at Goodfield State Bank in Metamora.
