Raymond A. Mickna

WASHINGTON...Raymond A. Mickna, 74, of Washington, passed away at 1:56 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2012 at ManorCare at Riverview in East Peoria. Ray was born on June 15, 1937 in Mansfield Center, Connecticut to John and Mary Breslin Mickna. He later married Elizabeth Kelly on April 24, 1965 in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. She passed away on June 15, 1993 in Washington. Among those surviving is one daughter, Cindy Black of Peoria; two sons, Tim Mickna of Washington and Scott (Cheryl) Mickna of Deer Creek and five grandchildren, Ben, Alex, Beth, Sam and Jenni. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Ray retired from Komatsu in Peoria over 10 years ago after more than 40 years of employment. His last position was an engineer at the proving grounds. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Navy. Ray also earned his bachelors degree in engineering from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne prior to coming to the Peoria area. Ray?s biggest joy over the years was the time he was able to spend with his family. Funeral services for Ray will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Bachman officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
