Raymond R. Grenzebach, 92, of Washington, Illinois passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:04 am at Unity Point Proctor, Peoria. He was born on September 20, 1922 in Washington, IL to Jacob and Emma (Dingeldine) Grenzebach. He married Edith S. Curlee on February 24, 1946 in Charlotte, NC. She died on April 15, 2012. Surviving are his children Carolyn (Dan) Lucas of Bakersfield, CA, Sally (Paul) Cady of Waukesha, WI, Sue (David) Hopper of Farmington, IL, Connie (Kurt) Berlett of Washington, IL and Cindy (Brad) Lovell of East Peoria, IL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; special granddaughter Heather (Terry) Shaw of Dunlap, IL; and brother Arden Grenzebach of Deer Creek, IL. He was preceded in death by son Ray, Jr. in 1979 and brother Marvin Grenzebach. Ray was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He was a founding member of Grace Bible Church, Washington. He worked with Libby?s in Morton for 46 years during the pumpkin harvests. He was a member of Tazewell County Farm Bureau. He was a life-long farmer who loved to grow and share his produce with others. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Grace Bible Church, Washington with Reverend Adam Kipp officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Washington with military rites accorded.
