Raymond Ray E. Clark

Raymond "Ray" E. Clark, 69, of Metamora, Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. Raymond was born to Palmer J. and Lavina R. (Call) Clark, "up home" on the family farm on December 16, 1945 in Metamora. In 1961 he met Janet S. Strayer and began a five-year courtship. They were married on July 31, 1966 at Antioch Christian Church in Toluca, IL. The couple had three children. Raymond is survived by his wife Janet; his son Terry (Mary) Clark of Metamora; his daughters Lisa Clark of East Peoria and Jennifer (Brian) Downs of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with another on the way; his brother Jim Clark; his sisters Patsy Cordes, Ruth Smith, Dorothy McElroy, Marie Fraatz, and Peg Lantz; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to count. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roland Clark. For many years he worked his first love, farming, and later for many years as a heavy equipment operator first at Midwest Sand and then retiring from Ozinga, Inc. in December, 2011. He was also the Partridge Road Commissioner for 16 years following his father?s reign and passing the tradition on to his son Terry. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Masons Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor Dan Hoehne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rights have been accorded and burial of ashes will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in Ray?s name. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
