Raymond L. Addis

Raymond L. Addis, 87, of East Peoria, IL passed away at 6:03 pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

He was born on November 6, 1934, in Peoria, IL, to Raymond Lee and Marjorie A. (Hansen) Addis. He married Rosemonda C. Williams on March 22, 1958 in Peoria.

Surviving are his wife, Rose of East Peoria; children, Roxane (Ben) McKinney of Peoria, Raymond Alan Addis of Dayton, WA, and Gina Addis of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren, Doug McKinney, Michael McKinney, Bree (Cody) Scovil, and Mati Addis; and great-grandchildren, Kaeleigh, Lacey, Aubree, and Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Norbits.

Raymond worked in maintenance at Caterpillar Tractor Company until his retirement. He was a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, Sons of Spring Bay American Legion Post #1115, and the Caterpillar Retirees Club. He volunteered at Meals on Wheels for 25 years and also the Red Cross for over 40 years, donating 40 gallons to the Red Cross. Raymond was always helping people.

His family would like to thank the staff in the NeuroScience ICU at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for their skill and compassion.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel.
