Ramona I. "Mona" Smock, 89, of Metamora, IL passed away at 7:15 am on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. She was born on February 17, 1931 in Metamora, IL to John A. and Anna (Cochran) Wagner. She married Ralph Vernon "Bud" Smock on December 30, 1949 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on February 26, 1999.
Surviving are her children, Linette (John) Grunloh, Kathy (Al) Gangloff, Daniel Smock, and Darrell (Daphne) Smock all of Metamora; grandchildren, Dawn Gangloff, Erin (Patrick) Kiesewetter, Tami (Meyer) Mogul, AnMarie, Samantha, DJ, and Bonnie Smock; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cole, and Aaden Kiesewetter and Alexis and Andrew Mogul. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Kara (Thomas) Gangloff Brezinski, brother Gordon Wagner, and two sisters Mary (Robert) Vanscyoc and Edith (Gerald) Buchanan.
Ramona worked as a cashier at Metamora IGA, retiring after 17 years. She loved square dancing and country dancing with Bud, bowling, puzzles, and bingo.
Due to COVID-19, private family funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Pastor Gary Salm officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Snyder Village Residents in Need Fund, 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548.
