Ralph "Super Ralph" Jones Sr.

Ralph Paul "Super Ralph" Jones Sr., 88, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Morton, IL passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Manor Court in Peoria with family by his side.

He was born on March 5, 1935, in Peoria, the son of Paul Jones and Veda Rose.  He married Nellie Gallagher in Arkansas on November 30, 1951, and she passed away on July 15, 2000. Two grandsons also preceded him in death.

Surviving are one son, Ralph (Kay) Jones Jr. of Pahrump, NV; two step-daughters, Pat Carter-Segal of Peoria, IL, and Judy Fosco of Pekin. Also surviving are five grandsons, 13 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Further surviving is his companion of many years, Darlene Lohnes, of Morton and his beloved Yorkies Sammie and Eddie.

Super Ralph's journey as a businessman began with his ownership and operation of the Shell Gasoline station at the corner of Sheridan and Lake St in Peoria. His commitment to service and excellence soon led him to expand his ventures, taking over the Phillips 66 Gas station on University St also in Peoria. It was here that Ralph's reputation for honesty and reliability grew, making his stations not just places to fill up the tank, but community hubs where friendships were formed and sustained.

His entrepreneurial spirit was relentless, and it was only a short time before he ventured into motorsports with Super Ralph Yamaha in both Peoria and Pekin. His passion for motorcycles and his knack for sales made the dealership a destination for enthusiasts and novices alike.

In the latter part of his career, Ralph transitioned into the role of a salesman at Riverside Chevrolet in Chillicothe. His grace and expertise earned him the trust and business of countless customers. After 30 years of dedicated service, he retired.

With respect to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring his memory on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Grecian Gardens, 304 S Plaza Dr, in Chillicothe, where stories and memories of Ralph's life will be shared. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. His arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington.
