Penelope Phelps

Penelope Candice Phelps, 55, of East Peoria, died at OSF Hospice House in Peoria after a battle with cancer on March 27th, surrounded by her family. She was born in St. Louis, MO on November 26, 1957, to William and Betty ( McDill) Davis (both deceased). Her brother William S. Davis, Jr. also preceded her in death. She is survived by husband Everett L. Phelps of East Peoria IL, they were married in Pekin, IL on August 16th, 1990. Also surviving are two sons, David Scott Davis of Washington IL, Cory Brian (Tara) Davis of Morton IL. siblings ? Carol (John) Schwenck of Co Sprgs CO, Barb (Darrell) Birks of St. Charles MO, Faye (Doug) Bartelmay of East Peoria, IL, Herschel (Melissa) Davis of Lenexa, KS, Terri (Tracey) Self of Gilbert, AZ, Mansel (Marianne) Cochran of Co Sprgs CO, Don Davis of Houston, TX, Doug (Brenda) Davis of Town & Country, MO, Theresa (Dave) Hoernle of Sanford, NC, Jennifer (Brandon) Rock of Columbiana, OH and grandsons Cory Brian Jr. and Kaleb, granddaughter Ella Renee, numerous nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends. She graduated Fort Zumwalt HS O?Fallon, MO in 1976 and attended classes at Illinois Central Community College. Penny owned and operated Penny Phelps Cleaning for many years working in the tri-county area. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending dirt track racing events with her husband and friends. She enjoyed swimming, gardening and visiting family all over the country. She never met a person she didn?t like and was a friend to all. Cremation rights have been accorded. Memorial services will be held at Mason-White Funeral Home, Washington, IL on March 29that 6 p.m.. Family will receive friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSF Hospice of Peoria.
