Pauline Marie Liebhart, 90, of West Peoria, IL, formerly of Washington, IL passed away at 2:49 am on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria after a long bout with dementia. She was born on November 29, 1925 in Macon, MO to Jess and Louise (Tipton) Ham. She married Floyd Liebhart on August 1, 1946 in Macon, MO. He passed away on December 25, 2008. Surviving are her children Linda (Steve) Brannan of East Peoria and Steve (Sheri) Liebhart of Hurley, NM; grandchildren Jacob (Brittany) Brannan, Matthew Brannan, and Isaac Liebhart; great-granddaughter Ava Harber Brannan; and sister Alice Faye (Harold) Nelson of Macon, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Herbert. Before moving to Illinois in 1955, Pauline was a secretary and a rural school teacher in Macon, MO. She went back to work in the 1960's as a secretary/transcriptionist for the Peoria TB Sanitarium. After it closed, she was a receptionist at several area businesses. Nothing meant more to her than her children and grandchildren. She loved them unconditionally. The rest of her family were always also in her thoughts and prayers. Always a huge animal lover, she rescued many dogs and cats. Like her mother, she had flower gardens galore. She was kind, caring and generous and dedicated to her faith in God. She was a member of Our Savior's Chapel in Peoria for many years. She met Floyd, the love of her life, through her roommates, his sisters, after he returned from WWII. They were married for 63 years. They took many road trips together, eventually visiting every state except Hawaii, including driving all the way to Alaska. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel, Germantown Hills with Pastor Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
