Paulette May Thompson

Paulette May Thompson, 81, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL, passed away at 10:42 am on Monday, March 9, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

She was born on May 26, 1944, in Peoria, IL, to Wilbert J. “Hank” and Agatha M. (Reising) Grebner. She married Bruce E. Thompson on August 7, 1965 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on January 17, 2020.

Surviving are her children, Amie (Derek Grow) Williams and Rob (Amy Shelton) Thompson all of Portland, OR; siblings, Dianna Spooner of Sierra Vista, AZ, Leota “Lee” (Butch) Martin of Washington, IL, Becky Roese of Fort Worth, TX, Roni (Steve) Killion of Peoria, IL, George (Deauna Collins) Grebner of East Peoria, IL, Cindy Erickson of Germantown Hills, IL, and Aron Grebner of Ashland City, TN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Judith Boyer.

Paulette enjoyed working as a pediatrics office manager for Dr. Jon Byler and Dr. Scott Carlson in Washington for many years and interacting with the children and their parents. She was a member of Christian Union Church in Metamora where she volunteered in the nursery and served at funeral meals. She served three years on the City Council and was a founder of the Metamora-Germantown Hills Junior Women’s League.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Susan G.
