Paul Bernard Molloy, 88, of Washington, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, at Carle Health Proctor Hospital. He was born on July 22, 1938, in Peoria, Illinois, to Bernard and Bernadine (Dunnick) Molloy.

In 1962, he married his soulmate, Leah Alig, and they were married for 63 years before he went home to the Lord. He loved every moment of being a husband and a father to David Molloy, Denise (Michael) Boyer, Doug (Jayme) Molloy, and Daria Robinson.

Family was everything to him. He was proud of the life he built with his wife, children, and 7 grandchildren, which grew to 10 after three of them married. He is also a great-grandpa to Lilah and Athena Boyer. His grandkids, Joshua (Olivia) Boyer, Brooke (Rhett) Sinclair, Jacob Boyer, Madisyn (Jarrod) Moon, Logyn Molloy, Krue Robinson, and Isaiah Robinson, were his treasures in his life.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Bernadine Molloy and one brother, Jerry Molloy.

He attended Academy of Our Lady/Spalding Institute High School and graduated in 1956. He attended Bradley University and Brown School of Business, majoring in Accounting and Auditing. His jobs in school were at Kramer’s Drive-In and Jumer’s. After college, he was hired at Jefferson Trust and Savings Bank in Peoria, which later became Bank One.

Retirement was hard for him to achieve, as he always liked to be busy and continued working for Pekin Insurance, then went part-time at Bank Plus and Heartland Bank.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish for over 50 years and served on the school board for St. Patrick Catholic School, as well as on countless committees and at parish functions, including the chicken dinners.

Along with working, being a husband, Dad, and Grandpa, he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. During his time with the Knights, he joined the 4th Degree and the Honor Guard and was awarded Knight of the Knights. He was a Chicago Cubs fan, a fisherman, and the best Grasshopper drink maker. He always loved his fishing trips to Arkansas with friends and loved sharing stories about the fish he caught and those that got away.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4 pm until 6 pm at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, with recitation of the Rosary will be at 3:30pm. Further visitation will be one hour prior to his Mass on Saturday at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington.
