Patricia Marie Cook, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Snyder Village Health Center, in Metamora Illinois, her home for the past three years. Pat, or Patty, as she was known to friends and family, was born on July 2, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Clara (Kolanowski) Trzcinski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Graham Cook, her son, Daniel, and her sister, Karen (Ervin) Michalski.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Gail (Greg) Simpson, Jennifer (Brent) Cates, Nancy (Kevin) Weller, and the daughter of her heart, Lynn (Peter) Walsh. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Pat attended St. Michael's Grammar School, Loretto Academy, and DePaul University, all in Chicago. Pat worked many years in the medical field, assisting doctors in the office and with billing. She retired with her husband to Indiana, where he passed.
Pat will be remembered by all as a feisty and funny lady who loved to cook, enjoy a good bottle of red wine, and have family gatherings. She had a truly horrible singing voice that she shared enthusiastically, singing show tunes at top volume. She will be remembered as a favorite resident at Snyder Village and Vitas Hospice, "even when she was swearing at us in Polish." At Pat's request, there will be no service held and burial arrangements will be made at a later date.
The family requests that in place of flowers, remembrances be made to the Snyder Village Resident in Need Fund at 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
