Patricia Powell

Patricia Ann Powell, 85, of Morton formerly of Pekin passed away at 4:08 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Morton Villa Care Center in Morton, IL. She was born on October 21, 1931 in Peoria daughter of George "Bussie" and Pauline Green Westbrook. She married Ned T. Powell on August 20, 1949 in Pekin. He passed away on April 16, 2017 in Peoria. Surviving are two daughters Kathy (Steven) Schlappi of Morton, IL and Terri (Dan) Randolph of Littleton, CO; one son Tracy (Sandy) Powell of Edmond, OK. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one brother John "Buster" (Norma) Westbrook of Morton, IL. Patricia was a graduate of Pekin Community High School. She was a homemaker for most her of married life, she managed her parent's restaurant "Westbrooks Gourmet" the last several years it was open. She enjoyed many things in life including studying her Bible, making cards, traveling, needlework, socializing, playing board games with friends but most importantly spending time with her family. Mom, Hockey Mom, Grandma are a few names she went by. She taught us grace and Godly wisdom. She opened our home to friends and relatives who needed a home to live in. She could dazzle dad with her beauty and turn around and skin a rabbit. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at First Baptist Church 700 S. Capital St Pekin, IL. Pastor Mark Friday will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:30 until her time of service also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to Peoria Rescue Ministries.
