Pat Keim, age 88, longtime resident of Germantown Hills and Metamora, currently of Peoria passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Unity Point Health ? Proctor in Peoria. Pat was born August 1, 1926 on the Merley family farm in Akron, Indiana to Nyle and Edith Glen Merley. She was the youngest of five siblings. She married Richard Talbot on September 4, 1944 in Rochester, Indiana. He died in Metamora, Illinois in the Fall of 1953. Pat chose to stay in Metamora and soon met Edwin V. Johnson. They married May 5th, 1957, Daughters Beth and Becky were born to this union and were raised in Germantown Hills, IL. Edwin died April 10, 1986. Pat moved to Peoria in 1991. She married Marvin E. Keim of Bloomington, IL on July 3, 1993 where he moved to be with her in Peoria. Pat enjoyed her relationships with Marvin?s extended family including his children Larry, Sandy and Kevin. Marvin survives. Pat was mother to Beth (John) Forkes of Waukesha, WI and Becky (David) Johns of Bartonville, IL. She was the proud Grandmother of Amanda Forkes and late Matthew Johns. During her lifetime, Pat participated in many activities. She was a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher, and a member of different church choirs. She played both piano and organ in numerous services and programs at Christ Church in Germantown Hills, of which, she was a founding member. Church life was very important to Pat. Pat also enjoyed many years of friendships with the Metamora Woman?s Club of which served multiple terms and offices. Golf was a very important part of Pat?s middle years, taking up the challenge in her 40?s. She played in several golf leagues around the tri-county area and held offices on some of those if not all of those leagues. On August 13, 1990 at the age of 64, she shot a hole in one. She continued to play golf into her 70?s. Pat was a faithful, hard worker her entire life. She worked outside the home until age 81. Always working those numbers, she worked her bookkeeping skills for Garber?s Grocery Store in Metamora, WABCO, I.V. Die Mold Company for 23 years and 11years of efficient service as Bookkeeper for Peoria First Assembly of God. Pat lived her life with great strength and determination. Her faith throughout her journey inspired many. She was an eternal optimist; she looked for the best in people and in doing so brought out the best in them. Besides her unconditional love for her family and many friends, Pat was well-loved. She will be greatly missed, but remembered by the many people whose lives she has touched. From those she helped, she sought no recognition. Thank you to her dedicated Pastor, former Co-Worker and Friend, Pastor Dean Grabill and his staff & congregation at Peoria First Assembly of God church. Thank you to doctor, Dr. George Gilbert and his tireless staff. Your ability to help guide both Pat and Marvin through their years will never be forgotten. A special thank you from Pat?s girls to the hard working staff at the Peoria Liberty Village campus for watching over Mom. Your unconditional support and guidance provided time for us to gather more precious memories these past two years. Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday, March 2nd 2015 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel, 375 Old Germantown Rd., Germantown Hills, IL. Pastor Dean Grabill will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00?4:00 pm on Sunday, March 1st at the Funeral Home with additional visitation one hour prior to her service on Monday.
