Patricia June Cambria

Patricia June Cambria, 77, of Metamora, IL passed away peacefully at 3:45 am on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 20, 1940 in Farina, IL to John and Geneva (Malinsky) Osborn.

She married William L. Vanderheydt on June 21, 1958. Together they shared five children, Pam (Jim) Gilinsky of Peoria, Tami Schimpf of Washington, Kim (Joe) Sieg of East Peoria, Mike (Amy) Vanderheydt of Mapleton, and Shelly (Curt) Ryan of Metamora. June later married Joseph Cambria on July 3, 1982. They were blessed to have two families unite.

June is survived by her five children, eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren; two brothers John (Betty) Osborn of Washington and Jim (Laura) Osborn of Trivoli; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend Raymond Burns. She was preceded in death by her parents, four beautiful sisters, a niece, a nephew, son-in-law Steve Schimpf, and her amazing husband Joe.

June worked for the Peoria Post Office for 18 years. She then owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Henry for 15 years with her husband Joe. Her passion for work continued in life as she worked for several Metamora School Districts. June was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved the Chicago Bears and the Metamora Redbirds. She also enjoyed her flower gardens, garage sales, going out for dinner, and spent many years traveling to various parts of the country and overseas. She especially loved her angel dog Daisy.

June will be deeply missed by the many hearts she touched. She was and will always remain our rock. We love you Mom now and for eternity.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am until time of her service on Thursday at the church. Entombment will be at the Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. A funeral luncheon will be held after her services at Christian Union Church in Metamora.
