PEORIA...Nicole "Nyckie" A. Gorman, 34, formerly of Washington, passed away at 5:05 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center. Nyckie was born on October 18, 1977 in Peoria to Les and Penny Schwarz Wright. She married Timothy Gorman in Peoria on August 31, 2002. Tim survives. Also surviving is her son, Andrew; her parents of Washington; two sisters, Kimberly (Christopher) Wolfe of O?Fallon, Illinois and Angela (Robert) Bonjour of Pekin; her in-laws, Bob and Betty Gorman of Peoria; her grandparents, Wilma and Leonard Schwarz of Pekin and Barbara and Odell Wright of East Peoria and many loving nieces and nephews. Nyckie was an MRI CT Technologist and also a phlebotamist. She had worked for American Red Cross, Peoria Imaging, Hopedale Medical Complex, Lake Forest Hospital and Greenberg Radiology in Highland Park. She was a 1996 graduate of Washington Community High School and earned an associate degree in X-Ray Technology from ICC. During high school and college Nyckie was a cheerleader. Nyckie loved sports, especially softball and her favorite computer game was Pogo. She was a very competitive player and at golf loved to beat her parents and Tim. Nyckie also enjoyed animals and was a regular volunteer at PAWS and dearly loved her pets, Bella, Lexie, Alley, Coach and the fish. She was on the board of the Mark Linder Walk for the Mind and was active in several brain tumor support groups worldwide. Her medical knowledge was greatly appreciated by many around the globe. Nyckie was a member of St. Mark?s Lutheran Church in Washington and had served as vice-president of the Central Southern Illinois Synod Youth Board. Funeral services for Nyckie will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark?s Lutheran Church with Pastors Dick Hanson, Tom Kreiger and Tom Christell officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
