Norman R. Miller age 58 of E. Peoria, Illinois passed away Thursday March 15, 2012 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria. He was born June 24, 1953 in Peoria to Lester R. and Ada M. (Winkler) Miller. He married Harmoney A. Daugherty on May 1, 1982 in E. Peoria and she survives. Surviving are his children Lukas, Amelia, and Christina "Suzy" Miller all at home. Also surviving are three sisters Arlene (Stan) Rush of Metamora, Evelyn (Rich) Day of Downs, IL. and Deloris (The late Howard) Hammer of Oakland, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Norman was employed at Caterpillar for 15 years as a Heavy Machinery Test Operator working at the Caterpillar Peoria Proving Ground, a life long farmer and a member of First Responder team at Caterpillar. While Norman attended College at Bradley he worked for Red Turner Concrete and later for Dick West Concrete. He enjoyed the camaraderie that he had with the local farmers and the operators, engineers, and mechanics who he worked with while playing in the dirt at the Caterpillar proving grounds. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Sat. March 24, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria with Reverend Mark Nelson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4pm until 8pm at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Cremation rights will be accorded after services with burial of ashes in Spring Bay Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will be served after services at the church. In lieu of flowers a Educational Fund has been established for Norman?s daughter Suzy Miller at CEFCU.
