Norman L. Chamberlain

Norman L. Chamberlain, 87, of Metamora, IL, formerly of Washington, IL passed away at 12:56 am on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. He was born on April 5, 1929 in Peoria, IL to Harry F. and Gertrude E. (Junker) Chamberlain. He married Lucille E. Sharick on June 21, 1952 in Varna, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his children Marcie (Terry) Craig of Metamora and Larry (Tina) Chamberlain of Kenansville, FL; grandchildren Dawn Orren, Kelly (Chuck) Elwell, Todd (Jade) Smith, and Jesse Chamberlain; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings Warren (Ruth) Chamberlain of Varna, Patricia (Jerry) Rudd of St. Cloud, FL, JoAnn (William) Crissman of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Mary (Jimmy) Jeffries of Kenansville, FL, and Beverly (James) Jones of Grove, OK. He was preceded in death by his brothers Wayne, Randall, Frank, and Vernon "Jake" Chamberlain. Norman was a U.S. Marines Veteran. He worked at Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring as a supervisor. He was a member of the Eureka American Legion Post 466, East Peoria Hilton Masonic Lodge 1143, Scottish Rite in Peoria since 1974, Peoria Shriners since 1974, and the Eastern Star. Norman loved woodworking and built imagination boxes and jewelry boxes for Snyder Village auctions. He also built small wagons, loved fishing, camping, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with a Masonic service beginning at 12:45 pm and the funeral service following at 1:00 pm with Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton with military rites accorded.
