WASHINGTON?Norma Jean Bradle, 76, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 4:02 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Norma was born on March 2, 1937 in Washington to Harold and Clara (Davidson) VanScyoc. She married William C. "Bill" Bradle on October 14, 1956 at St. Mark?s Lutheran Church in Washington. Bill survives. Also surviving are their four sons, Kurtis of Washington, Craig (Mary Ellen Deckelmann) of Bend, Oregon, Douglas of Peoria and Eric (Donna) of Dallas; one brother, Terry (Sharon) VanScyoc of Beverly Manor; four loving grandchildren, Megan, Hannah, Andrew and Brian and one special great grandson, Trevor. She was preceded in death by one infant brother. Norma retired from Caterpillar where she had been a secretary in the service department and later in General Offices. Prior to Caterpillar she had worked as a secretary for Eureka College, Cohen?s and Washington Grade School. She was a 1956 graduate of Washington Community High School where she received the DAR award and also was crowned Homecoming Queen. Norma was an active member of St. Mark?s Lutheran Church where she was part of the Morningstar Class, a reader and Sunday School teacher. Bill and Norma enjoyed over the past few years being a member of three different car clubs and the trips that were taken with the club as well as the shows. She was past president of the Mother of Twins Club in Peoria and a member of Kennel Lake Sportsman?s Club. Norma enjoyed the outdoors, when the children were growing up she looked forward to the family camping trips, the fishing trips that were taken or just spending time in her garden. She will always be remembered for her love to cook and help friends at every chance she could. A service to celebrate Norma?s life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark?s Lutheran Church with Pastor Dick Hanson and Pastor John Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be at the church from 9 to 10:45 on Wednesday. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements.
