Norma Jean Acklin, 85, of Washington, IL formerly of Roxana, IL passed away at 5:30am Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka. She was born on November 8, 1930 in Roxanna, IL the daughter of Victor and Gladys Dearman Acklin. Surviving are two daughters Terri Friday of Plano, TX, Jeanne (Brent) Reddish of Washington, IL and one Son Ronald Bedwell, Plano, TX. Further surviving are her grandchildren Randi Vaughan, Jolene Aldus, Colleen Maurer, Allison Friday and Kyle Reddish along with 6 great grandchildren as well as one brother Victor T. (Susan) Acklin of Ridgedale, MO. Her parents, two brothers Thomas and James Acklin preceded her in death. Norma Jean is remembered kindly by all that had the fortune to know or meet her. Her priorities were family always providing encouragement, a listening ear and a positive outlook in any situation. Her smile always a constant and a bright star in anyone's day. Even as she approached her final days, she worried more about the others that were caring for her rather than herself and never did her spirit or smile fail. She lived the past two years at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka, IL where she came to rely, love and cherish the exceptional staff family providing the absolute best care through their kindness and compassion. Cremation rites have been accorded, with interment at a future date near her childhood home and family. There will be no visitation.
