Nola Irene Sluga

Nola Irene Sluga, 98, of Metamora, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Carle Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.

She was born on October 16, 1928, in Minier, IL, to Finnie G. and Gladys E. (Cruse) Clouse. They preceded her in death. She married Harland W. Sluga on January 21, 1950, in Metamora. He passed away on July 29, 2026.

Surviving are her son, Michael (Carla Turner) Sluga of Metamora; daughter, Angela (Kevin) Lawless of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Tyler (Hanna) Sluga and Molly Sluga; and great-grandchildren, Harrison and Waylon Sluga.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Clouse of Tremont, IL.

Irene was a cherished member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora. She worked at Caterpillar for eleven years before embracing her role as a stay-at-home mom. A devoted seamstress for many years, she also treasured her family and was blessed to enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for many years.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father David Kipfer officiating. The Rosary will be recited at 9:00 am. Visitation will take place following the Rosary at the church from 9:30 am until the Mass begins. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora.
