Nathaniel "Nate" Augusta Thurston

Nathaniel Augusta "Nate" Thurston, 34, of Peoria, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home.

He was born on November 17, 1987, in Peoria, IL, to Kenneth and Kimberly (Rubel) Thurston.

Surviving are his parents, Ken and Kim of Spring Bay, IL; sister, Tera (Casey) Thomas of Metamora, IL; niece, Jeneva Thomas; paternal grandmother, Jurline Thurston of Washington, IL; maternal grandmother, Velva Ballard of Bay View Gardens, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, maternal grandfather, and two cousins.

Nate worked as a laborer for many years using the skills his father and grandfather taught him over the years. He had a true talent in woodworking. Nate recently started handcarving wooded signs for his friends and family. If he wasn't woodworking, you could find him fishing anywhere and everywhere. His positive attitude was an inspiration to all. Nate loved his family and friends with his whole heart and would help anyone he could.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel.
