Nancy C. Lane

Nancy C. Gilmore Lane, 74, of Germantown Hills, IL passed away at 2:30 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her residence. She was born on December 3, 1943 in Peoria, IL to Carl R. and Gertrude (Cogdal) Gilmore.

Surviving are her son Gary (Tandra) Lane of Peoria; grandson Dr. Michael Lane of Germantown Hills; granddaughter Mary Anna Lane of Clinton, IL; and brother Dr. Carl R. (Rosemary) Gilmore of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dr. Wayne Gilmore, and grandson James Lane.

Nancy was a graduate of Illinois State University with her Bachelors and Master's Degree in special education. She spent 47 years teaching deaf/hard of hearing students around the Peoria area before retiring.

She loved going to aerobics, Landmark fitness, the outdoors, and traveling the United States with her favorites being Yellowstone National Park and DisneyWorld. Nancy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Nancy loved spending time with her son and grandchildren. Nancy knew no stranger and was friend to many. Nancy touched so many lives with her kind, loving, genuine spirit. She will dearly be missed.

Per Nancy's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, #5, Norwalk, CT 06851. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
