Mildred M. Wind

WASHINGTON?Mildred M. Wind, 101, of Washington, passed away at 12:40 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2014 at Washington Christian Village. Mildred was born on August 3, 1913 in Washington to Mahlon and Mabel (Schick) Blumenshine, Sr. She married Joseph Wind on September 11, 1934 in Eureka. Joe passed away on January 31, 2005 in Washington. Among those surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Darlene) Wind of Normal and Gordon (Judith) Wind of Madison, Indiana; one sister, Margaret Pfeffinger of Washington; seven grandchildren; two step granddaughters; 11 great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Mahlon Blumenshine, Jr. and one sister, Marie Marsh. Mildred and Joe were charter members of Kennel Lake Sportsman?s Club. She was also a member at Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church in Washington and was part of the Berean Sunday School Class at the church. Funeral services for Mildred will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at her church with Pastor Ken Sistrunk officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements. Memorials for Mildred may be directed to either her church or a charity of the donor?s choice.
