Mildred L. Hough

Mildred L. Hough age 91 of Emporia, Kansas formerly of Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away on Wednesday Dec. 18, 2013 at her son?s residence in Emporia. She was born March 31, 1922 in Bebee, Arkansas to Jess and Delphe (Kelly) Wilson. She married Willis Jennings "Jim" Hough on Nov. 22, 1947 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and he died in 1991. One daughter Phyllis Griffith and a brother Ralph Wilson also preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Larry (Mary) Griffith of Germantown Hills, Carol "Janet" (Gary) Craig of Las Vegas, NV., Bobbie (Reldon) Schertz of Low Point, Beverly (Brian) Coffman of Mountain Grove, MO., Curtis (Shannon Disch) Hough of Emporia, KS., and Darlene Justice of Mary, WA. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and one brother Eugene Wilson of Jasper, Arkansas. In her early years Mildred was a nurse and had delivered numerous babies for an Amish Community in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, painting, traveling, embroidery, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She was a member of Church of Christ in Peoria and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday Dec. 21, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Rev. Rod Schertz officiating. Visitation will be from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Stewart Harmony Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hand in Hand Hospice 1201 W. 12th Ave. Emporia, Kansas 66801.
