Mildred V. Allen

Mildred V. Allen age 83 of Bay View Gardens, Illinois passed away at 12:45am Friday at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Kilburn, IL. to Issac and Sarah (Garner) Atkins. She married Lloyd L. Allen Sr. on Dec. 29, 1945 in Peoria, and he passed away on Jan. 31, 2008. Surviving are her children, Lloyd Allen Jr. of Bay View Gardens, Sarah Elston of Eureka, Vonnie (Toney) Miller of Normal, IL and Charlene Allen of Bay View Gardens. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and three sisters, Verla Yates of Atlanta, IL, Erma Blanchard and Audrey Moerhing both of Delavan. She was preceded in death by 1 son, 2 sisters, and 2 great great grandchildren. Mildred had worked as a CNA for Galena Park Nursing Home and was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Monday July 2, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Rev. Sam Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after services. Burial of ashes will be in Spring Bay Cemetery.
