Obituary

Michele R. "Shelley" Doty, 54, of Washington, IL passed away at 6:20 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 at her residence. She was born on October 29, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to William "Bill" and Shirley M. (Hanna) LeBaube. She married Dorwin B. Doty on May 7, 1988 in Morton, IL. He survives. Also surviving are her children Derek Doty and Vanessa Doty both of Washington; siblings Donna LeBaube of Osage Beach, MO, Nancy (Steve) Aupperle, Bill LeBaube, and Jaime Squier all of Morton, Kim (Lorrie) LeBaube of DeWitt, IL, Dan (Mindi) LeBaube of Roanoke, and Nicki (Dave) Bailey of Morton; father and mother-in-law Harold and Orda Doty; and brothers and sisters-in-law Doug (Carla) Doty, Stan Doty, Monte (Donna) Doty, Dianna (Doug) Delinski, Rick (Lisa) Doty, April (Steve) Nauman, and Brian (Karen) Doty. She was blessed with an abundance of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Kelly Squier. Shelley was a graphic designer with Marquette Group in Peoria. She loved photography, especially taking pictures of barns. She was an amazing and talented artist. She was a nature person who enjoyed hiking and listening to owls. Shelley was a sister that stood out among us. She was unique, to say the very least. Talented beyond words and worthy to be called a warrior in the battle that eventually took her from us. She was a petite, beautiful blue-eyed blonde that had an artistic flair that we all admired. Petite but powerful, Shelley had a definite way about her, that set her apart from most. She was a "list" girl as she would say, and very precise in her demeanor. She was a great sister, daughter, wife, mother, aunt and friend to so many people that loved her. Our family here and in Missouri will miss her immensely. Our parents had eight kids and our Dad called us by rank, Shelley was number five, but in our hearts she will be number one always. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:00 am at Bethel Lutheran Church, Morton with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded with burial of ashes following the service at 3:00 pm on Saturday at Spring Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Runners Midwest Affiliate Peoria Chapter. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
