In loving memory of Michael Steven Yackle, Age 73, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Born on August 23, 1952 in Pekin, Illinois to Franklin and Ruth Yackle. Graduating from East Peoria Community High School in 1970 and Retiring from his tenure at Caterpillar in 2014.

Michael was a man in tune with nature, enjoying his free time at Farmdale Park.Whether it was Hiking, Biking, or Camping at various campgrounds, he would always have a story to spin about the wildlife and the numerous people he met along the way. Michael enjoyed making people laugh and smile with him. Being a man of the Hippie generation, he was also a firm believer in peace and love. His presence on the trails and in his family's hearts will be dearly missed as he sets up camp in heaven.

He met the love of his life Jacquetta in high school, tying the knot in February of 1973. In those 53 years, they had two children, Carie and Nathaniel. Carie brought two granddaughters into the family, Jacquetta "Jack" Yackle and Jessa Raley, while Nathaniel brought a grandson and a granddaughter into the family, Braden Clark and Aubree Yackle. Along with his two sisters, Anna Yackle and Shirley Wenzler, he has nieces, nephews, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Ruth Yackle.

In accordance with Michael's wishes, cremation will be accorded. His family will privately celebrate his life. He will be truly missed by all, and his presence will be dearly cherished in our hearts.
