WASHINGTON?Michael L. Butler, 64, of Washington, passed away at 8:44 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Mike was born on July 19, 1948 in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania to Stephen and Delores Gallagher Butler. On June 3, 1972 he married the love of his life and soul mate, Barbara Heiberger. Barbara passed away on August 9, 2006 after 34 wonderful years together. Among those surviving are two sons, Royce (Robin Albertsen) Butler and Rory (Michelle) Butler, both of East Peoria; two daughters, Jon?l (Tim) Alexander of Mossville and Trina Butler of Washington; seven grandchildren, Dominic, Cameron, Dalton, Cheyenne, Brandi, Johnathan and Joseph; one brother, Arthur Butler of Texas and two sisters, Virginia (Richard) Fisher of New Jersey and Patricia Butler of Davenport, Iowa. Mike had worked for SC2 (Superior Consolidated Industries) for 23 years working in management and also as a fork lift operator. He was an avid sportsman and gun enthusiast who believed in a person?s civil rights and gun ownership. Mike was a member of the Midwest Gun Club and enjoyed fishing and hunting. One of the highlights were the trips with his best friend, Brad Spurgeon on the fishing trips to Wisconsin. A service to celebrate Mike?s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 20 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Jeff Browning officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.
