Melvin L. Christ

Melvin L. Christ, 93, of Lowpoint, IL passed away at 4:54 pm on Monday, August 29, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on October 27, 1922 in Lowpoint, IL to Julius and Emma (Weber) Christ. He married Alberta S. Whisler on June 13, 1942 at Oak Grove Church of the Brethen in Lowpoint, IL. Surviving are his wife Alberta of Lowpoint and numerous nieces and nephews. Melvin was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethen in Lowpoint where he was past treasurer for 20 years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Oak Grove Church of the Brethen with Reverend Charles Buegel officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Buckingham Cemetery in Washburn. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Oak Grove Church of the Brethen.
