Melberta K. Krumholz age 89 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 11:35am Thursday Sept. 13, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born Oct. 5, 1922 in Metamora to Leo C. and Lydia (Kiesewetter) Fandel. She married Joseph J. Krumholz on June 26, 1948 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in rural Metamora. He survives. Surviving are her children, Stephen (Scotti) Krumholz of Dallas, TX., Richard (Deb) Krumholz of San Luis Obispo, CA., Phyllis (Steve) Norder of Plainfield, IL.,Mary (Steve) Lewis of Germantown Hills, James (Carolyn) Krumholz of Minneapolis, MN., Joan (Dick Kelly) Ruder of Germantown Hills, Janet Krumholz of Sycamore, IL., 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Alvena Force of Roanoke, Agnes Parr and Marcella Obery both of Metamora, and Lulu Mae (Jack) Hoffman of Germantown Hills. Three brothers, Jack (Ruth) Fandel of Washington, and Fred Fandel and Donald (Joan) Fandel both of Germantown Hills. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Melberta had worked for many years as a housekeeper at the Mt. Alverna Novitiate in E. Peoria. Member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora and the Altar Rosary Society and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 89. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Monday Sept. 17, 2012 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Neri Greskoviak officiating. Recitation of the rosary will be at 3:30pm Sunday with visitation to follow from 4pm until 7pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary?s School and Snyder Village. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com
